  • Diploma Degree in Electrical Engineering (Democritus University of Thrace), Xanthi, Hellas in 1989.
  • February 1990 he started working towards a Ph.D. degree with a university scholarship, in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Robot Vision, in the Control Systems Laboratory of the Democritus University.

Professional Experience

  • Since 1991 participated in the following research programs: STRIDE HELLAS 8, Joule II, Human Capital and Mobility and Pened95.
  • From January 1993 worked as partial time research assistant in the Neuroscience Laboratory of the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, Hellas.
  • In January 1993 acquired specific skills on industrial robot manipulators in the Laboratory of the Yaskava Co., Munchen, Germany.
  • Co-author in more than 12 journal and conference scientific papers.
  • Co-ordinator or speaker in at least 30 seminars analyzing specific areas in computer science.
  • Completed his military service in 1996, as a special scientist in computer networks.
  • Senior R&D Engineer of Daedalus Informatics, in the fields of image processing and artificial intelligence since 1993.
  • Co-operating as an engineering consultant at Macedonian Press Agency S.A., and Success International Inc.
  • He is a member in IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.) and in the Technical Chamber of Greece.

Teaching Experience

  • During 1990-1995 and under his scholarship he was assistant Lecturer to the following University courses: Automatic Control Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Optimal control Systems.
  • His current research interests cover the areas of artificial and biological neural networks, image analysis, pattern recognition and robotics.
