- Research and development of a media independent, expandable, simple to manufacture and assemble, low-cost line of Jukebox systems, codenamed "PERSEUS". The device is modular in concept and structure and may be user expandable according to demand. It occupies very limited space as it is made by precasted elements (media containers) mountable along any sizable wall area. Robotic wagons maintain a wireless communication network with one or more transaction request servers (PC computers) and schedule an optimal routing of cartridge collection and availability of free drive(s) allocation. The system may be expanded independently in media containers, service wagons, network servers and media drives. Selection of media and fully feedback oriented operational control is achieved by usage of barcodes. Among several innovative features are: the device may be freely updated with new cartridges by the users while in operation, servicing and replacement is similarly simple, size expandability is of a non discrete nature since the geometry of the media elements may be adapted to the geometry of the available wall landscape, etc. The product is aimed at the coming era of massive multimedia information (Documents, graphics, sound, video) archiving, classification and management systems, as particularly expressed by the universal carrier - the CDROM and DVDROM. As it is inherently able to handle thousands of Cartridges, the product attempts to meet the growing market demand for management of very large quantities of multi format information systems for Corporate Organizations, Public Services, or future Content Provider Enterprises. PERSEUS is particularly designed as to exploit the concept of non-linear requests and batch oriented transaction queries. It extends further into being the ideal supplement (as the information management repository) into the upcoming evolution of asymmetric networks, where the information request and information forwarding cycles, may be performed at non pre-determined time intervals and routing path by means of network topology and capacity. PERSEUS, presents the rational infrastructure required as an entry to the Knowledge Management era.

- Among DAEDALUS most distinct and recent R&D areas, the sector of "Coordinate Logic Transformations" (CLTs) holds a potentially amazing perspective of growth and modern industrial implementations, in a variety of possible formats, such as in firmware, VLSI or ASIC designs. CLTs, present a radically new algorithmic and methodological approach in assessing DSP (Digital Signal Processing) operations, as they offer an immense acceleration of processing steps -and subsequent time/energy derivatives- due to their innate capacity for massive and inherent parallelism, with no limit to the size of the filter window. Such a technology, could progressively influence the infrastructure of VLSI production schemes used today, in major fields -such as video processing, computer graphics, mobile communications, medical data processing, to name but the very obvious.
- Next generation on-line authoring and publication system.
A new field of activities for DAEDALUS, is the commissioning of high fidelity multimedia publications on CD-ROM. In cooperation with the Cypriot Company "ALPHA-OMEGA", the original theme of the monumental edition of the "History of Cyprus" (a 4-volume work conducted by the world authority historian, master A. Pavlides) was converted into an electronic edition. The conversion and multimedia rendering of the encyclopedia was completed mid 1997, whilst a limited version was publicly offered on the Internet, sponsored by the National Communications Carrier subsidiary, OTENET for the period between 2000-2005.

Renewable Energy Technology Sector
The company develops and promotes turn-key Software products under a long term strategic market investigation, or custom products based on specific order or, products and know how arranged under the realm of joint venture agreements. Relative projects are briefed as follows:
- The company possesses an international joint patent shareholding (910100323/ FO3B 13/24-8 Sept. 1992) of original research in Renewable Energy scheme entitled: "Floating Cement Structures with attached Wave Energy Air Compressor Devices", The patent is concerned with a number of methods devices and constructions used for the extraction of the useful total energy content carried by sea waves, and further convert it into compressed air for subsequent use in the production of electricity. Our current activities, are focused in developing a pilot wave energy platform for industrial demonstration and promotion. The design characteristics are: 30 m length, 250 KW max - 100 KW RMS power. The device will demonstrate a wide variety of potential applications, ranging from electric power production to pumped storage applications. Although several minor applications may present a specific advantage at particular projects (i.e. sea water oxygenation-regeneration suitable to fish farming and cultivation), the final target is to demonstrate the optimal suitability of Wave Energy for Hydrogen production, storage and transportation, in the form of Hydrides. The project is currently running in cooperation with our overseas partner, and is open to international, or national, venture capital participation.

- WECON PDP10 (Wind Energy)
This scheme entails the industrial pilot implementation and subsequent commercial promotion operations for an innovative small scale wind energy system. Anticipated power delivery is in the order of 10 KW out of a high-solidity 6m diameter span rotor (higher capacities are easily attainable). A 50 KW model is currently planned. The design offers significant advantages not only in comparative cost/performance and simplicity of construction and maintenance, but mainly in the capacity to readily serve in a multitude of applications such as:- - Stabilized Electric Power production
- Fresh Water Production out of sea water desalination
- Pumped Storage in natural or artificial gravity containers. A direct application emerges from combination with small Hydroelectric plants

- The company has developed and manufactured (patent pending) a new type of modular reciprocating engine suitable for a multitude of purposes in industrial as well as renewable energy installations. The device, codenamed "ANEMIRA" is composed out of low cost standard commercial components, available in pneumatic power industrial appliances. The thermodynamic medium driving the engine is compressed air. The engine is fully controlled by an embedded microcomputer and its cycle is automatically corrected by continuous feedback control. By mere selection of the running program to control the timing of the electropneumatic valves used, the thermodynamic cycle may be converted as to enable the engine to be operated as either a power engine, as an air compressor, or as a high vacuum pump. Indicated capacities start at about 10 KW and may span to 50 KW. Due to its geometry and general concept of operation, several engine modules may be coupled along the same axis as to deliver a multiple indicated power. Evidently, the same microcomputer may be used to drive the new total of valves. As a power engine, it may operate under almost any harsh environment and optimally balance real life conditions where both supply pressure and load (i.e. when driving an electric generator) are constantly varying. As an air compressor, it may serve well for low capacity energy converter for intermediate application where electricity may not be the primary energy source. Most significant application is the tandem operation with small wind turbines, providing a new ground for energy exploitation in small energy farms, where cost/performance of small scale application of wind energy has been previously non-commercially justifiable. DAEDALUS is working on alternative energy sites operating under the described principle, where the intermediate energy stored in compressed air, is further used to compress Nitrogen into very high pressures (up to 200 bars), providing a low cost, high capacity energy storage solution. As a vacuum pump, the engine may serve in a number of applications, most apparent perhaps being that of accelerated sea water evaporation cycles used in desalination. Another rapidly advancing application is utilization of a compressed air cycle for sea water Pumped Storage, offering a multitude of potential applications. Promotional plans for ANEMIRA have not as yet been conclusive, but it will initially serve as an integral component into composite renewable energy projects. The product is primarily targeted to the OEM market.
- COGENVAD (COMBINATORIAL CONTROL ENVIRONMENT FOR DISTRIBUTED POWER GENERATION ADMINISTRATION)
This proposal promotes the long term strategic design and know how produced by DAEDALUS and is based on the rapid convergence of the technologies of informatics, automatic remote control of home or industrial installations and, the Power Distribution Utilities (PDU). DAEDALUS is developing a composite operational and software model, which enables the PDU to install, control and exploit the energy-power derived from small wind and solar (WECON PDP & Solar) home devices/installations. The consumer may be offered additional services, such as Home Automation (Domotics) Security Monitoring, permanent internet connection via PDU cable infrastructure, etc. Apparently, the proposal introduces a highly advantageous and extensive commercial scheme. The domestic Distributed Power Generation market may be considered as a rapidly emerging, with private capital initiative in the fields of renewables and informatics.
