Critical Momentum Wedge (CMW)
Flow Dynamics Simulation
The following animation demonstrates a simplified simulation of the kinematics involved in a Morisson wave when encountering a modified sea-bed. In this animation the dynamics forming and developing the CMW (Critical Momentum Wedge principle) locus are gradually becoming apparent. An inverse cone-shaped container acts as an air compression chamber entraping the raming effect of the incident wave momentum. In essence, the mass of water oscillating within the container as excited by the actual upcoming waves, resembles the thermodynamic cycle of a conventional air-compressor.
