Executive Summary

DAEDALUS Informatics, the head company of the DAEDALUS Group, was established in 1991 by a team of specialists in informatics and engineering. The founding perspective endeavored, was to establish an innovative and flexible commercial scheme able to host and promote the results and experience of multiannual research in informatics, engineering and renewable energy technologies. The Company's central offices are located at privately owned premises in Glyfada, Athens, Greece.

Currently, the Group enjoys internationally acknowledged expertise in three major fields of applicable research: Informatics, Renewable Energy Technologies and Coastal Engineering. A wide spectrum of associated specialists and part-time partners is enriching the company's enabling force allowing the existence of a broad but fully diversified and flexible scheme. In addition, the company has direct connection and joined activities with a number of Academic Institutions, Universities and research centers, on a national as well as on a European domain, as to be able to provide a broad spectrum of services in specialized education, research and design. DAEDALUS is member amd affiliate of several actions, initiatives and EU projects, including ENERGY WARDEN financially supported by the EU DG INFSO under the 7th Framework Programme, the BIOPATTERN Network of Excellence, ERUDIT (European Network of Excellence for Uncertainty Modeling and Fuzzy Control), EUE-Net (European University-Enterprise Network).

On February 2007, in Istanbul, the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials endorsed DAEDALUS as project leader for the CORAL Initiative (Operational Framework of an Advanced Telematics Virtual Institution, for the promotion of services on sustainable development in ICZM). The project is currently entering its second stage towards implementing the technological framework of a concerted portfolio of actions, as to assess the information model, partnerships and infrastructure requirements of CORAL.

The commercial activitiesof DAEDALUS are focused in three major fields of science:

Informatics, Renewable Energy Technologies and Coastal Engineering

A. In Informatics the purpose of the company is:

• To develop and promote applicable R&D products,

B. In Renewable Energy Technologies, the company is actively engaged in worldwide key research on:

• the exploitation of renewable resources derived from marine wave energy
• development of small scale wind engineering, suitable for incorporation in buildings
• development of domestic co-generation cycle solutions of hybrid (solar-wind) systems
• integral software monitoring and total energy-information management cycle

C. DAEDALUS also holds key research and innovative industrial solution in the field of Coastal Engineering, beach restoration, nourishment and safeguarding.

Daedalus Branches in Cyprus

• The company's activities have expanded to the Cypriot market, whereat a commercial joint venture with the affiliated branch "AKTOMIHANIKI Ltd", was established in 1995.
